Kimberly A. Skiba-Rokosky graduated summa cum laude with distinction with a Bachelor of Arts from Boston University in 2002. She has been working in the legal profession since 2000, first as a residential real estate paralegal and a family law paralegal and then as an attorney. Kimberly is a native of Piscataway, New Jersey.

Kimberly moved to Richmond, Virginia in 2003 to attend law school at the T.C. Williams School of Law of the University of Richmond. She was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 2006, at which time she began her practice in the Richmond area practicing solely in the areas of domestic relations and estate planning and administration. Kimberly joined Owen & Owens PLC in September 2008 and currently focuses her practice on domestic relations and estate planning, estate administration (probate), and litigation involving estate and trust matters.  She proudly became a partner with the firm in May 2013 at the age of 33.

Kimberly is actively involved in the legal community by participating in bar associations, authoring legal publications, and speaking at continuing legal education programs. She is an active member of a number of bar and professional associations, including the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Metropolitan Richmond Family Law Bar Association. Kimberly is Vice President and former Treasurer of the Metropolitan Richmond Women's Bar Association and is a member of its Judicial Endorsement Committee. She is a member of the Richmond Bar Association Membership Committee and was 2010 co-chair of the Richmond Bench-Bar Conference. Kimberly is on the Executive Committee of the Richmond Bar Association Young Lawyers Conference, and was the first recipient of the Richmond Bar’s “Young Lawyer of the Year Award” in 2011.  Partly because of her work outside the courtroom, Kimberly has been selected annually for “Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Stars” in the category of family law beginning in 2011.

Since law school, Kimberly has authored several legal publications, including the update to the chapter on family law in The Virginia Lawyer: A Deskbook for Practitioners. She has also lectured at seminars for other attorneys and for paralegals on topics in areas of domestic relations and estate planning and related matters.

Kimberly’s free time is spent with her husband, Chris, and their two pets, a Shepherd/Boxer mix named Molly and a Calico named Maggie.  When Kimberly isn’t practicing law or participating in law-related activities, she enjoys traveling, running, and reading, among other things.  She also volunteers within the greater Richmond community, currently by working with the Legal Information Network for Cancer (“LINC”) and, previously, by serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Safe Harbor and the Tuckahoe YMCA.
